How does chlamydia testing work?
For our accurate chlamydia testing, all we need from you is a urine sample.No preparation is needed so you there is no need to fast or do anything beforehand. No exam is required either, so you don't have to worry about undressing or swabbing. We use your sample to complete an FDA-approved Nucleic Acid Amplification test (NAAT), which is the most reliable method of chlamydia testing for this common STD. It will look for the presence of Chlamydia trachomatis bacteria in your urine, giving us either a positive or negative result.

As one of the most common STDs, this option is a great idea if you are not specifically concerned about any other sexually transmitted diseases, such as gonorrhea, syphilis, or HIV. An annual chlamydia testing is recommended as part of your regular sexual health practices, especially if you have had unprotected sex and are concerned. Chlamydia spreads very easily from person to person and often times an affected person will typically show no symptoms. Chlamydia bacteria can take between 7-10 days to detect in the urine, so we recommend waiting at least a week after the possible exposure before testing.
