An Access to Care for Americans with HIV

The cases of HIV infections

Less than 1/3 of the Americans with HIV had the Virus under Control in 2011, with a lot of them not getting regular medical attention or they are not aware that they have the virus. This is according to the newest US study. The USCDCP research roughly estimates that around 70% of the 1.2M Americans with HIV did not have their Virus under Control, even if combination drug therapies can actually contain the virus in an efficient manner before it can progress and becomes a full blown AIDS.  The mixture of indifference as well as the absence of access to immediate medical care showed to compensate the lack of information as a driving actor in instances that are controlled by the HIV, this is according to the researchers from the CDC.

For those who live their lives with HIV & AIDS, it is not just adequate to live their lives knowing that they have the virus, but they also need to go through some immediate medical care. This is according to the CDC director during an interview. For the health care, it is not just enough to determine the patients, he insisted. You must take full responsibility for all the patients under your health facility. You must be able to give them with a sensitive, efficient and socially suitable care, this way, they can be treated for longer and healthier life, but what is more important is that they cannot infect other people.

What the researchers have to say….

If it will be used in a religious manner, the anti-retroviral medicine can actually keep the HIV in control at lower levels in the body, thus it will enable the people with HIV to live longer and enjoy their lives in a healthier manner. The suppression of the virus also lessens the likelihood of the patients to transmit the HIV to others. The treatment has been shown to help in lowering down the transmission of HIV by around 96% according to the CDC report. The US clinical rules suggest that everyone must go through the diagnosis to get adequate treatment for their condition.

Among the 840,000 individuals who had not taken the viral suppression according to researchers were discovered to be around 66% of them were undetected and they were not getting the daily HIV infections care that they need. 20% of them did not know that they were infected, 4% of them were getting health care, but they were not given the anti-retroviral treatment. 10% of them were given the anti-retroviral treatment, but they had not been getting the HIV suppressants. The study was not able to look for a relation between the dissimilarities in the viral suppression by races or by the gender, ethnicity and other factors, which is quite persuading. However, the researchers were able to find that young adults are at higher risk of having uncontrolled HIV infections, with around 13% of the people ages 18-24 years old taking the viral suppressant drug.
