Exposing deadly symptoms of fast-rising cases of Gonorrhea

New trends of the gonorrhea scourge

The United Kingdom's NHS officials say after Chlamydia, gonorrhea is the second the most common bacterial sexually transmitted infection. Gonorrhea requires any kind of sex (anal, oral, or vaginal) to transmit. Since more than half of infected people lack symptoms at the early phase, sexually active women are advised to practice gonorrhea testing every time.

In England, after STD test, there are 35,000 new cases of gonorrhea recorded in 2014. With the rises of new gonorrhea cases, it is risky for sexually active partners to practice unsafe sex. Some antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea strains are beginning to surface, but the infection is still being treated with antibiotics medications. A case of gonorrhea might reoccur even after successful treatment plans.

Pelvic inflammatory disease in women, prostate gland conditions in men, and infertility are adverse side effects of untreated or undiagnosed gonorrhea. When pregnant women are infected with the bacteria, their infants are the worst hit. Sometimes gonorrhea bacteria that affect newborn leaves them deformed.

Recently, news broke about an English man who contracted gonorrhea from a Southeastern Asian woman. The news on the gonorrhea case was not surprising. However, the infection, in this case, was a new strain of gonorrhea that defiled all known antibiotic treatments. Immediately, the infection was termed the world’s 'worst-ever' case of super-gonorrhea. Medical experts all over the world were worried about the news of 'super-gonorrhea.'

A visible outpouring of a thick discharge (green or yellow) from sores on the genitals is possible signs of gonorrhea infection.
  2. A feeling of the agitated anus: This feeling occurs in heterosexual men who are infected with these bacteria. The rashes affect sexual partners of anal sex, as the rectum is inflamed with red spots. There will be pains and a discomforting feeling, and some smelly discharges. This condition of gonorrhea infection usually comes with a cold, headache or a cough.
  3. Itchy throat and eye pains: There are other uncommon signs of gonorrhea, an itchy throat and eye pains are some of them. More so symptoms may surface on unlikely body parts, and painful sensation during urination will be observed.
  4. The frequent case of bleeding between periods: Women with gonorrhea experience bleeding between their menstrual cycles. Usually, this bleeding is from cervical inflammation, and you need to visit a testing clinic to speak with a doctor.

During sexual intercourse, uncontrolled ejaculation of discharges from the vaginal fluid can get into your partner's eyes. The gonorrhea bacteria are more concentrated in the seminal or vaginal fluid of victims. In the eyes, they are painful, discomforting and could damage conjunctivitis when left untreated.
