In Keenan health center, more of STIs testing and screening was done with limited comprehensive contraceptive family planning services.  Milwaukee leading in STD cases

Statistics show that Milwaukee leads the nation in ranking of different STIs cases. This state ranks first in gonorrhea cases, fourth in chlamydia and one of the worst places for HIV infections for men under the age of 25 years. In addition, it was discovered that 125 people and above in Milwaukee suffered both HIV infections and syphilis at a go.

It is a shock that Milwaukee has registered such a rise and it is mostly affected by poverty and at the same time for seven months family planning services were withdrawn. A great concern is that still many could not afford to access the health center and so the number would be even higher.

Some officials felt disappointed like Ald Chantia who felt some provisions she had sponsored in the budget were yet to be implemented.

This led to an urgency of a meeting among the staff where Lewis said that the sexually transmitted infections be handled even as they deal with other ongoing lead crisis. He exclaimed that they needed to operate as if their house was on fire.

The interim health commissioner that updates be appropriately done since she didn’t even know that the Southside health center was supposed to offer family planning services.
